Every day goes by so fast, and now, it’s already June. Which means, back to work for me tomorrow. It’s going to be tough getting used to working again and spending so much time away from Dylan.

Yesterday was the first day I felt that Dylan needed me as a mom, and not just a food source. I had given him to my mom to watch for a bit while I went to the basement to help Dennis assemble furniture. He is usually such an easygoing baby, so I was surprised when after an hour or so, he was crying — no, screaming his head off. He was hysterical, and wouldn’t stop. Mom went downstairs, and when she gave him to me, he calmed somewhat. I thought he was hungry, so I tried to feed him. He didn’t want any milk, so I held him in my arms and rocked him to sleep. That was all he wanted. Not just to be put to sleep, since my mom had been trying to do that all along, but for ME to put him to sleep. He just wanted his mommy.

And tomorrow, when I’m back at work, I’m going to be thinking of him and hoping he isn’t missing me as much as I am missing him.

Here’s one example of how drastically your life changes once you have a baby: Last year, for the Memorial Day weekend, we went on a mini-vacation and stayed for 3 days on Catalina Island. This year, for the Memorial Day weekend, we went to Costco. LOL! Not nearly as fun, huh?

We were pretty busy the following weekend though, with a housewarming, a surprise birthday party, and a family gathering (on Dennis’ side) to go to. Busy!

And miracle of miracles, I’m up to date on my scrapping, already! I won’t post the photos separately, since you can already see them on the LOs. Plus, too much work. You know where to go to see them, anyway.

Dylan turned 2 months! Also, Idris was baptized this week.

We were out and about running errands this week, too. Dylan was so good when Mom and I ate at Islands with him!

Memorial Day was the 25th, but we were just at home. The weekend of this week was the busy one I mentioned. Too bad there wasn’t space for a photo of Gem’s birthday. Oh well, Dylan was at home with Mom during that one anyway.

I’m updated in my Project 365 scrapping all the way till Mother’s Day. Not bad for a mama with her first baby!

Whew! I can’t believe I’ve gotten this much scrapped already!

I’m having trouble remembering the weeks, since I’m blogging them Friday to Thursday and I’m scrapping them Monday to Sunday. So here’s a whole bunch of photos starting on a Friday till last Sunday.

Day 44: He still sleeps best swaddled up –that is until he kicks off the blanket.

Day 45: Dylan’s baptism! He was so good, he didn’t cry when the priest poured water on him.

Day 46: Dylan got to hang out with Jan (and Ninang Bing & Ninong Bong) at Panera the next day before they went back to San Jose.

Day 47: Dylan went to the doctor for his 1 month checkup. He is now 9 lbs 13 oz!

Day 48: Ahh, sweet slumber…

Day 49: Dylan is reunited with his Lola after she was in Palm Springs for 4 days.

Day 50: I love his every expression, even when he frowns.

Day 51: I love this photo! I didn’t have a good one of him at Easter in his bunny outfit, so he wore it again.

Day 55: I was planning to take a photo of just his shoes, but it didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. So here he is “sitting” on the edge of his changing pad.

Day 56: Calm and content after a bath.

Day 57: Dylan is starting to lift his head up for brief periods!

Day 58: This yawn means he’s ready for bed!

Day 59: He’s starting to sleep better in his bassinette, too.

Day 60: My first Mother’s Day!

Sometimes being a mom is still surreal to me. Just around 2 months ago, I was pregnant and knew I was going to have a baby, but I didn’t know what my baby would be like. I knew I was going to be a mom, but I never really knew what that meant until now.

And now, Dylan’s here, and I’m getting to know him and his needs and his personality. I have officially crossed the threshold into mommyhood. And it’s harder than it looks. They say you never truly appreciate your mom until you become one. That cliche is turning out to be true. So to all the mothers out there, and especially my own mom, a huge THANK YOU for everything you’ve done.

I’ll be pretty much caught up with photos with this post, since Week 7 won’t end till Thursday!

Day 37: Karaoke night with the Aces! Of course our kiddos have to “sing” with us, too!

Day 38: Dennis putting Dylan to sleep. I gave the photo a grunge feel because of the look Dennis was giving the camera.

Day 39: Dennis and I had gone to Target the day before, and ended up getting herbs to plant along with the rest of the stuff we needed. Today he planted, with Dylan “helping”.

I seriously have the best husband ever. Sometimes I don’t know what I did to deserve him.

Take today for example. Dylan had a doctor’s appointment this morning, and since my mom is in Palm Springs for a couple of days, it would be just me bringing him to the doctor. Dennis knew that the car was low on gas, so he filled up my tank with gas before he went to work since he knew it would be hard for me with just Dylan in the car.

After the doctor’s appointment, I dropped by my workplace so I could see everyone again and have them meet my baby boy. They were suitably impressed when I mentioned that Dennis was the main diaper changer, and said that their hubbies were wusses when it came to that.

Also, we’re low on groceries, since we were unable to make our weekly trip. He volunteered to go to the grocery after work so we would have food for the week. And when I told him I wasn’t able to make dinner since my mom wasn’t there to watch Dylan while I cooked, and he was being fussy. Dennis shrugged it off and said he would buy rotisserie chicken at the grocery store.

And that’s all just in one day. I’m so lucky to be able to spend a lifetime with him. <3

I may just have figured out a workaround, albeit an inelegant one, to updating my Multiply blog when I post to this blog. This is a test post to find out whether it works. *crosses fingers*
