I was on a scrapping roll this weekend!! Here are the first 5 pages of my mini-album (more to come!) and 2 pages from a Shabby Pickle kit I fell in love with over the weekend.

Journaling:
From the second we stepped off the bumpy boat ride into Avalon, it felt like we were entering another world. Quaint and peaceful, Avalon welcomed us into a different lifestyle. This was not your typical vacation where you cram as much sight-seeing as you can into a short amount of time. Everything about this vacation was leisurely, from sleeping in until the sun came out from behind the clouds (almost noontime due to the weather), leisurely strolls along the boardwalk, and even afternoon naps after the tours.Credits:

We arrived on a rainy Friday evening via taxi at the quaint Hotel Atwater. Imagine our surprise when we found out there was no elevator and had to trek up to the third floor! But we were happy once we saw the room, since we had splurged for a suite with a jacuzzi tub! It was well worth it since it was too cold to go swimming outdoors that Memorial Day weekend anyway.
On our first morning in Avalon, instead of rushing out to see the sights, we slept in while the sun did the same behind the clouds. It soon started to clear up, and we went off to explore the town.Credits:

Brunch was the first thing on our to-do list, and we discovered Antonios Pizzeria. There was a cute tabletop jukebox, unfortunately it was out of order. Then we continued our walking exploration of Avalon, mainly to take some photos and kill time before our tour started.
Soon we boarded the tram and were seated in a prime photo spot. Our tour guide was funny in a deadpan sort of way, and we found out tons of tidbits about Catalina, like the casino with no gambling, the one and only gas station, the best bridge ever, the 15-year wait to register a car, and the herd of buffalo that still lived on the island. We even stopped to greet a local Happy Birthday!Credits:

My favorite part of the tour was the view! I was trying to get shots of the scenery as we whizzed by. Then the tram stopped at a great vantage point, and I was able to take several photos!Credits:

After the tour, a nap, and some souvenir shopping, we headed to Armstrongs for dinner. We had an outside table despite the chill, because of the gorgeous bayside view. I can still remember the delicious ahi tuna steak I had for dinner, and our relaxing conversation where we talked about anything and everything except work. Then it was back to the hotel for an end to a beautiful day.Credits:

I cant believe it has already been a year since we first moved into our home together. I remember how fast everything just happened. We closed escrow on Thursday, got our keys on Friday and started packing, cleaned the house on Saturday and officially moved in on Sunday, July 1st. By the time we went back to work on Monday, we were exhausted! It was well worth it though, and every day I am so happy we have made our home at 1962 Annandale Way.Credits:

I saw your post over at Sunshine Studios and thought I’d drop by your blog.
I love your mini album; I especially like how you’ve included the ticket stubs! Your new home pages are so cute!
