
Not a combination you would think would go together. But if you watch The Next Food Network Star, you’ll know that one of the challenges was to make some unusual ingredients work with fish, such as fruit loops, marshmallow creme, caramel, and more. One of the chefs came up with Macadamia Tilapia with White Chocolate Beurre Blanc, which was picked as the winning entry to be featured in Red Lobster restaurants nationwide! (Geez, I sound like an ad!)
Anyway, even though Dennis and I had just recently eaten at Red Lobster, I convinced him to go back so we could sample the dish. Our verdict? I loved the dish! As for Dennis — not so much. So mixed reviews. Of course with my huge sweet tooth I would think it was just perfect!
I was just watching that show! And prior, I was watching a recorded episode of Iron Chef and the challenger cooked something like fried crispy rice with steamed black fish… not exactly called that way but that’s roughly what it was. I would looove to be a judge on that show! Lovw food network! heh…
